Three Mircales!

God has been good! Lot's to share. . .

We borrowed a Big Red Truck to get our Big Red Trailer from Durham, Ontario to Grand Rapids. Now we had to get it to Florida, but we had no idea how.

So we prayed.

And God answered our prayers when someone donated a pickup to the organization I now work for. It was in Harrisburg PA and needed to be re-located to Florida. The boss asked the driver if he would be willing to "swing by" Michigan to pick up Glidewell's trailer, which he gladly did, and toted it to Florida for us! (Miracle #1)

We, the Glidewell family in a mini-van, left for Florida a few days later. The first day's assignment was to find a place to live. We begun our search for apartments in the local newspapers, which we found discouraging. The prices for an beat up old trailer was $650+, and we couldn't find a home to rent for less than $1300! Yikes! AND everyone wanted first month, last month, and security deposit. Big Bucks for a broke guy.

So we prayed.

We made a strategy to look around neighborhoods for homes for sale that looked vacant, and call the owner to see if they would rent instead of sell. The only phone numbers I could get was the realestate agent's phone numbers and when they found out I wanted to rent, they wouldn't give me the owners phone number. They wanted the sale. Ahggh! In the middle of the afternoon when our car and kids were overheating, a fellow drove by and asked what we wanted, why were we loitering in his neighborhood. I explained we were looking for a home to rent, and he pointed to another home and said that's the one we want. He new the lady who owned it had just moved out to live with her friend, and wanted to rent her home. He took my number to give to her, and the lady called us back.

We looked at the home, very nice, well maintained, and close to the airport. We started getting excited, but when she said the monthly price would be only $650, we knew we had just witnessed another miracle! FANTASTIC. But we still needed $650 x 2, she waved the security deposit because she thought we were nice people. Where to get $1300?

So we prayed.

I called a buddy of mine down here, and asked if I could borrow some cash, I explained why, and would be able to pay him back over the next several months. He said he'd look into it and would call me back. Later, he called and said he couldn't provide a loan, but had a $1500 check for me as a gift! Not just rent, but some cash to buy some grocery's too!

So we thanked God.

And moved in the next day.
