2. Two weeks ago, we had "scratch" week. (We had "scratch week" last semester too. . . when I had to put in the insulation into the new building. But that was different. Itch week?) During this week we had to make all our meals from scratch. We had cooking lessons and had fun with it! During this week landed Gustie's birthday, and to celebrate Ang made a cake from scratch, and we all made homemade ice-cream. The plan was to put ice-cream ingredients into a little zip-lock bag, then put the little bag into a larger bag along with ice and salt. (Snow was more abundant in drifts delivered to our sidewalk and yard, so we used it also!) Then mash it and squish it for about 20 minutes until it "set".
3. After scratch week, we had an itch for chocolate chip cookies. So we made some. And Sam is now old enough to know what REALLY happens to cookies in the oven.
4. And of course, the big beautiful dress. Can you picture this from the eyes of a 7year old princess?
