Kidney Stone Series: Chapter 4

October 19th Ace has an appointment with the urologist. The urologist gives him the worst case scenario to the best case scenario.

Facts are - Ace’s kidney stone is in the middle of the kidney and is reachable by going up the urinary track; an out patient surgery.

If the stone was located at the top or bottom of the kidney then the Dr. would be unable to reach the stone and would need a different kind of surgery that would require a different Dr. This other Dr. would use a surgery that would enter the kidney threw the patients back. Let’s pray that this procedure will not be needed.

Nuking the stone is not an option. This procedure is for stones that are to big to go threw the urethra tube. Ace’s stone has not reached that size yet, so this treatment would not help.

A kidney stone can float anywhere in the kidney it doesn’t have a path to follow and then it comes out. (My misconception) Bad news is it can float around in the kidney forever and it will continue to grow until it comes out.

The Dr. tells Ace he can not pass his FAA physical with a kidney stone. Please pray for the decision Ace needs to make. Although it is painful we would really like to pray that the stone would just come out on its own.
