One Last Hurrah in MI., Florida, & Travels

Ang's Parents are very creative and want to make memories every moment they can get.  When it came closer to our departure they kept thinking of one more thing to do.  One event that we miss out on is Homemade Chinese which is made every New Years Day.  It is an all day project with all the chopping and preparing.  So we had to make Chinese before we left.
Papa sitting at the table surrounded with all his grand babies and lots of egg-rolls

Ang's Sister thought it would be a fun summer project for the kids to tie-dye T shirts.  So while Ang was packing like crazy the kids were having some fun.
Everyone sporting their new shirts

Traveling to Florida we got a flat trailer tire it even blew off the fender of the trailer.  We were in Indiana on a piece of Highway that had a lot of tire carnage so much so, that it was impossible to drive around it.  We were not surprised that we joined the many who lost their tires.  We were thinking something must have been on the road.
We found a Wal-mart 21 miles away who had a tire and tools we could use but they wouldn't do the work.  Ace changed the tire and we were off.

Arriving in Florida we were flagged down by friends who told us the family we were going to for dinner had just been in a car accident and they are now being taken to the hospital.  Two children were thrown from the vehicle.  We immediately went into prayer mode and wondered if we arrived in time for a funeral.
The accident scene.  They rolled the car a few times and went thru two fences!
We were soooo thankful that there was no funeral and God spared all their lives.  You can read about their accident on their blog here.
Florida bugs which I DO NOT! miss
Florida was a short visit and so wish we could spend more time visiting everyone.  But I think we were at the end of our social capabilities and very anxious to get home.  You know you've traveled to long when your nesting instincts become active every time you enter someone's home.  LOL

Back on the road again Sam & Cherry camping out

We had to stop a the Biggest rest stop in Texas.  Anyone else been there?  I had to take this picture because I thought of my sister Becky who we call Bucky.  Nice bathroom facilities by the way; the only one the whole trip.

What do you decorate your house with?

Here is the current Glidewell trend:

Some of the themes throughout the house include "Bathroom supplies", "Sam's toys", "Office", and "Random Clutter". These decorations come in various sizes and shapes or colors! Others are informative, having an arrow to educate children which way "UP" is. Also useful for teaching "IN", "ON TOP", "LOST", "CAREFULLY", and "BROKEN".
Some of these decorations contain a multi-purpose substance called "BUBBLE WRAP"; can be used to put under Mom's rocking chair legs to help keep her awake, etc. Bubble wrap contains small pockets of trapped atmosphere which can be strategically released one capsule at a time.
Other complementary decorations include an air-freshener called "Sharpie Marker" which provides all in the room a euphoric sense of well being; and of course the "Tape Dispenser" which dispenses tape when not needed and doesn't dispense tape when is needed.

A Sty In Your Eye? Give It A Try!

Goldenseal
Aurora and Piper have been getting sty's in their eyes on and off since we've moved to Florida. I really don't know if the state we live in has anything to do with it. And I'm not an expert about them.
I have done some internet research and only found that they last up to six weeks. The Dr. at last resort can make a cut and remove the puss after six weeks if it has not gone away and is still painful.

Last week at my Midwife appt. My midwife saw Pipers eye and recommended Goldenseal it was pricey at the healthfood store $17.00 but with two nights of application Pipers sty went away.

Time Flys

A lot has happened this month starting out with Fourth of July celebrations, then three birthdays to celebrate. One Birthday is a child's birthday party (currently on hold). All this with a baby due toward the end of the month and a household of seven to pack up. Ace's last day of work is July 31st and he is trying to tie up loose ends there too.
Which means he's not home a lot.

Forth of July at the Mitchell House
All the church vehicles notice any similarities?
Piper getting to do a little archery with Sarah.

I didn't take a picture of the gun shooting time. One of the guns was so loud that it made our baby startle every time it was fired. At first I was not sure that it was the baby or me until I ran into another pregnant lady who was saying the same thing about her baby.

Sams first ride on a dirt bike.
This picture really is of the Girls in the background they all had a ride on the Quad or whatever it is called. You can see them waving.
We all had a fun time fellowshiping with church family and playing on all the toys that missionaries don't have. Thank you Mitchell family!

July 12th
Happy Birthday to me who is celebrating my last year in my 30's Ugh! I was talking to my church friends when it was brought up when they all turned the big 40. They had to get bifocals. So I guess next year I get a new set of glasses for my Birthday. This year all I wanted was an Ice cream cake from DQ. This confused my girls as they really wanted to give me gifts. I had to tell them I really didn't want anything.
Hey, pregnant women just want FOOD!

July 13th
Happy Birthday Aurora who turned 5. We really still need to celebrate with her Birthday party. I'm just confused about when to plan the party with the move, baby's arrival and Ace towing banners on weekends. I hate to bake a cake send out invitations and then have to cancel so we just might have to celebrate her party in Arizona.

July 19th
Happy Birthday Ace who turned 38 July 13th.

Parade & Fireworks on July 3rd?

The Parade
(from Ace's perspective)
This cop interested Ace.
Doesn't he look like there's a donut shop in Williston?

Waiting for Fireworks

people watching

"Sam look at Daddy he's going to take a picture."
(One of ten photos)

"Sam Smile Daddy's taking a picture."
A common Sam expression.

Finally he held still..... We think he looks like he's four in this picture.
I love little people when it comes to fireworks it's all about snuggling because they are so scared. In this case Ace got to be the snuggler.
At first Sam had his eyes closed and his hands over his ears but, Daddy made him take his hands off his ears. I guess there is nothing you can do about opening his eyes.
Dear Jesus, please save me from these fireworks!

Moving On Up

There is something not so exciting about having to move up in vehicle size. A 15 passenger van? But it is exciting to say we've moved up from a small family to a large one.
With Baby Glidewell on his or her way we need to move out of our seven seater van and into a 15 passenger van. So we made a purchase. It's not exactly what we wanted but its what the Lord provided.
Mark sharing with Ace the character flaws that our new van has. One flaw is this prego can not climb up into the van very easily. I told Ace when I go into labor we are taking the mini van to the hospital.
The Kids are so excited because they each get there own seat
but not for long.

Now we can become church members. ;-)
How many white 15 passenger vans can you see? This is only half of the church parking lot.

A Baby Shower?

It is so neat to be at a church that celebrates every baby's arrival. We were given a baby shower to celebrate Baby Glidewell #6 I had mixed emotions about having a shower since where I come from we only have one. But God worked in my heart and I'm glad we celebrated this baby's arrival.
I just said to Ace the other day "Do you realize we wouldn't know this baby if we didn't loose Moses?"

A very special lady in our church makes the shower cakes and it is a highlight for me each shower to see what she has designed. At each shower we sing two songs picked out by the honored mother to be. I choose "Jesus Loves me" just because it was on the cake and of course I'm a kid at heart. Later I found out the lady who made the cake had not heard of the song until she was about 28 years old. She was saved later in life. Praise The Lord she has heard the Good News!
The girls were so excited about this day. More excited than I since sitting in front of people and being honored is a very hard thing to do. Many of the ladies commented that at least I had my daughters up front with me to keep me company. I laughed because I worried that they would do something that would embarrass me.
Ace had to tow a banner during the shower so I had to bring Sam. Although I was cramped and crowded with my huge tummy and a 30lb. boy on my lap. He did sit quietly during the devotional.
Our Pastors wife gave the devotional and I was very challenged and so were some of the other ladies. - Thank You Susan!

The Gifts -lots of diapers a few little somethings and a new stroller.
In with the new and out with the old.
Notice the blue & yellow duct tape that holds our old stroller together. Thank you ladies for your generosity!

A Prayer Request

Our Home In Lowell, Michigan
The family who is currently living in our home e-mailed us and said they bought a home and will be moving out of our home August 22nd.

We are starting training with NTMA August 18th and do not plan on coming back to Michigan until May of 2009.

Can you please pray with us about what to do with our home. We would love to sell the house but if God sees fit to put another renter in we would be glad for that too.

Daytona Beach Penthouse

All day Friday Ace worked on an airplane for some friends. At the end of the day Ace was asked if he would like to take the family to Daytona Beach for the weekend. The owner of the airplane owned a penthouse there and was offering it to us for the weekend. We couldn't resist taking up the once in a life time offer of staying at the tallest building at Daytona Beach. The penthouse consisted of the 24th, 25th, floor and the roof top 5,400Sq. ft.
A tour of some of the living space.
Our view to the North.
Our view to the South.
View from the master bedroom.
Relaxing in the living room just before we return home.
Eating peanut butter & jelly in the dinning room.
An elegant kitchen with plenty of space but not stocked for a family of seven with little children (cups & plates etc.). The range was so complicated we had to get out the instruction manual and then we were still confused. By time Ace got Saturday morning breakfast made, this pregnant woman was past starvation and ready to drink my eggs raw. So for dinner we went out to eat.
Dinner at TGIF
For Me?
. . . Aaahhhh!
The kids loved the pool more than the beach. I think its the calm water. Sunday we went out for one hour and got a sunburn. Mommy forgot the sunscreen. Bad Mommy! Those that have Ace's tanning genes just got tan.
Sam ready for a swim.
Roof top view, 260 feet high!
Our view to the West.
It's not that far down if you fall just from the roof to the 25th floor
.

Lots to see from way up high.
Looks like surfboarding class.

Banner tow is at eye level when you're at the penthouse. Still have no clue on what the banner was trying to communicate.
Pelicans that would fly past our window.
If they flew past our window heading North you would get to see them again in passing heading South with in 10 seconds.

Thank you Lord, for a great weekend get-a-way!
