Taking down the shelving.

Not as exciting as the adults that run threw the plastic. Sorry about the quality we are still learning how to make movies.

The girls are helping by staking logs, picking up staples, and twine scraps. They also made many trips to our van, jungle camp storage, & the garbage dump.

Thats where our home sat. Kind of sad. We have very mixed emotions. Were glad to be done and moving on yet, we are sad to see Jungle Camp come to a close.

Mail Call

Well I am excited to say the Glidewells got the most mail in Jungle Camp. Thank you so much for everyone who participated. We hung it on our walls so we would be reminded of everyone praying for us.

We received a total of 66 letters and five packages.
The largest package was sent by Kathy Patterson (Angela's Mom).
The funniest non letter was sent by Aaron Sterling (an empty envelope).
The most letters sent (21) goes to the children at Alton Bible Church.

A memory letter: God calls some to the factory, some to the Military, but the call to Missions is the greatest call of all. The field is large and the harvest is ripe, the reapers are few. Thank you for your obedience. -Justin Ford

A big apology about our Jungle Camp post card we sent out. Many of you don't know what I'm talking about as yours was probably returned to us. Some how the computer mixed names and addresses. Then those that did receive our post card may have gotten two or received the card just as were leaving Jungle Camp.

JC Ladies Hike

Here is another snake that I ran into. This one jumped out at me as I was going to step on to the rock. Needless to say, my heart was pounding fast. I think it was a rattlesnake? I didn't stick around to look at its tail.

Thank you Todd & Anna Kirkland for your support in this adventure. I enjoyed seeing Gods beauty. My only regret was we were not able to take the hike slow and enjoy every detail.

Jungle Camp Open House

This weekend reminded me of our wedding day and also going to the Parade of Homes, a newly built home show in Grand Rapids, Mi. It was a very tiering weekend. Our very first visitors were the Claussens and Amberlynne's family. Open House was two days. Saturday we received 120 visitors and on Sunday only 88. Because of the rain on Sunday there wasn't as many as usual. Out of all those people we only knew five families from our church here in Canada. Many of our neighbors received items like ice cream, milk, and fresh strawberries. They shared their abundance with our family. Tasting all the items you missed eating really made you want to be done with JC and go home. Oh well! One more week to go.

Pig Kill / 4th of July

Well its not actually a pig kill but more of a pig dissecting class. Some classes actually get to kill their pig, it all depends on the donating farmer.

Do I need to say anything?

The skin from the pig being cooked for a crunchy snack.

Yummy the finished product ribs, loin, and sausage.

A small 4th of July Celebration.

We end the day with 2ft. sparklers.

Dirt

What the kids appendages looked like after playing in the creek.

Sam found the ash bucket.

For some odd reason Sam would always kiss the ground.

A bath for Sam every night.

This was what the kids clothing looked like everyday.

Dirty laundry water

Independent Bible Study

Ace studied out with the mosquitoes in the hammock. Oh yeah, away from the kids who always want your attention because you look like your doing nothing.

PS. I read my Bible out loud so I not only looked busy I sounded busy and it amazed me that my older children sat and listened for 45min. Just a tip for busy moms of many children.

Sam working on Mommy's Bible study.

Wow! I say wow because this is one of the best times in Jungle Camp. Being made to read God's Word for a long period of time. The goal of the class was to simulate what it would be like living in hard working conditions and studying to translate God's word at the same time. Students were given chosen Bible study materials and asked to spend time with God for six hours for four days. Women with children were required four hours of reading time. The hardest part was the sitting believe it or not.

Look Who's Walking

Sam is taking lots of steps. He will only take them on the soft carpet in our Jungle Camp bedroom so, its all a big secret! Can you tell falling down is lots of fun?

Jungle Camp Visitor

Well I was kinda wondering if God was giving me an example of what life is going to be like as a missionary. This month I have crossed paths with four snakes, all different. This snake was in my house wrapped around a pole next to Sam's head. I had put Sam in his highchair to eat an afternoon snack. When I noticed the snake the snake noticed us and started striking towards us. I couldn't get my baby away fast enough. After notifying the whole lower camp that I had a snake in my home we were rescued by brave men. They sentenced him to death by decapitation, and carried out the execution. Then they put his head on a stick and posted it outside my door for all snakes to beware. We didn't have any more snakes after that. Click here for internet Milk Snake Picture

Jungle Camp Sicky

Buckely's slogan is "It Taste Awful. And It Works." I think it taste like liquid Vicks Vapor rub.

Ace under the mosquito net sleeping the day away.
Ace got worn out from building week and trying hard to make every thing work so his family wouldn't be miserable in JC. We reassured him that we will survive if the walls are not up and the hot water doesn't work. Ace felt much better after taking Buckley's. OK, you Americans if you haven't tried Buckley's you'll just have to. Ace is not a medicine taker after taking a dose myself I told him he had to give it a try. So he decided to give it a try and Man O' Man will it ever put hair on your chest if you don't already have some. After two doses Ace was starting to feel much better. Thank you Brenda & Wes Dyck for introducing us to Buckley's!
